Official fees of the registration authority (GebOSt)

In addition to our prices, the registration authority charges the nationwide uniform fees under the German road traffic fee schedule (GebOSt) at the time of registration: €10.20 for assigning the custom plate (note to no. 221 GebOSt) and €2.60 for the advance allocation/reservation (no. 230 GebOSt), €12.80 in total.

These fees are not part of our service and are collected by the authority in almost all districts only at the time of actual registration. The base registration fee depends on the respective procedure.

Included in the reservation package

  • Real-time availability check at your registration office
  • Reservation PIN or confirmation by e-mail
  • DHL delivery of the plates within Germany
  • Free alternative selection if the combination is no longer available at booking

All prices in euros including 19% VAT. Price list as of October 2026.

Frequently asked questions about prices

What does a custom plate cost in total?

A custom plate for a car costs €49.90 with us, including the reservation and two standard plates. On registration, only the authority's official fees under GebOSt are added.

Are the official fees included in the price?

No. The GebOSt fees are charged by the registration authority, usually at registration. We list them transparently but do not collect them.

Can I order plates only, without a reservation?

Yes. If you already hold a reservation, select the “Plates only” mode in the configurator. The reservation fee is then omitted and you pay for the plates only.
